Creamline: Terrifying Underdogs Entering the Semis
MANILA, Philippines — For the first time in a very long time, the Creamline Cool Smashers, the Premier Volleyball League dynasty winners, will be the underdogs in today’s All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals at the PhilSports Arena.
It would be folly, though, to write off the seven-time league champions.
Creamline and Choco Mucho will play their semifinal match at 4 p.m.
In the elimination round, Petro Gazz, Choco Mucho, and Chery Tiggo all had identical 9-2 cards; the Angels were seeded first, then the Flying Titans, and then the Crossovers.
But all of the semifinalists will have to start afresh to battle for a spot in the best-of-three championship round, so Creamline will have some fresh air.
